February 8, 2011: Gimme Some Money

Randy Newman Sells In
It is funding drive. Please donate to support the excellent and unparalleled variety of programming found only at CFRC. We had a bit of a theme tonight, spawned by the funding drive and my recent purchase of Aquaturbia's first album. I was delighted by the expansive liner notes in this re-issue, replete with nostalgasms from the flowery period in Chile in the 60's before the 1st 9/11 as well as an honest account of the reasons for the naked cover: they wanted to get noticed.

We played some music satirizing selling out and tracks from albums with cover art following along with Aquaturbia's approach either ironically or not

Robot news was a special treat. Not news but a clip from Douglas Adams' Hitch-Hiker "trilogy" featuring Marvin the Paranoid Android.
